My family tree through the ages
Giovanni Borg is a common Maltese name which makes researching this ancestor hard. In electoral registers, there are 20-odd such names listed and there’s no way of telling if he’s one of them, or which one he is. He was one of my paternal 3 x great-grandfathers.
Magro or Magri? It appears that a typo, or a mis-reading, is responsible for both surnames being attributed to this family. She is one of my paternal 3 x great-grandmothers.
Salvatore was another Borg who lived his whole life in the idyllic rural village of Attard. He is one of my paternal 3 x great-grandparents.
Alberta was born into, and married into, into agricultural families. She would have been involved in working the land too, but there is scant evidence of this. She is one of my paternal 3 x great-grandmothers.

Gio Maria was born and lived under British rule, in the rural neighbouring Maltese localities of Źebbug and Attard.
