We know little about Grazio Leonardo d’Armenia because few records survive. His marriage details suggest he was a Darmanin, not a d’Armenia.
He is my 8 x great-grandfather.
Grazio Leonardo was born in Senglea1, Malta sometime in the early 17th century, son of Bartolomeo d’Armenia, or Darmanin1 and Franceschitta1.
Family

On Sunday 20 August 16561, he married Petronilla Cangialanza1 in the parish church of Senglea1. The church register, apart from sporting bad handwriting, is not clear about their provenance; Grazio was from Senglea1 and it appears that Petronilla’s family were from the parish of Porto Salvo, Valletta1, but now living in Senglea1.
Despite the poor handwriting, the marriage register is clear – Grazio’s family name is listed as Darmanin1, not d’Armenia.
Together they had 5 children2:
- Alessandra
- Gio Andrea
- Bartolomeo
- Giuseppe
- Domenica
Death
He died sometime in 16882, but I don’t know where he died, what he died of, or where they buried him.
Lineage
He is my 8 x great-grandfather.
